January - April Missions Report 2009

Dear PASTORS, Prayer Warriors and Friends,

"Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:" Colossians 1:28

To all our wonderful supporters and friends..... hello from way over here.

Wow! It is hard to find where to begin as so much has happened here since we arrived after two months of short furlough. First, the government presently widens the road going to Ratanakiri, cutting some trees and branches and branches in preparation for the international road going to the central border of Vietnam. Because of the widening, road engineers with the help and effort of the military were able to find landmines in some areas of the road. Please do pray that they could find more and take out these landmines for the road expansion. Secondly, one of our staff that were presently training and molding to become the pastor someday of this mission work left the ministry without any specific reasons. And thirdly, some of our things in the house got soak and wet because our landlord took off the old road to replace a new one. He doesn't know that this time of the month will going to rain. Trial after trials after those spiritual and material blessings. But by His grace, we are still grateful for God's calling upon our lives and are looking to Him to continue using us in spreading the Gospel here in farthest area of Cambodia.

Our ministry progress is slow even though many confess faith in Christ and followed the Lord's in the water of baptism; it takes time for the Cambodians (Khmers) and minority groups to break through these centuries of buddhist and tribal traditions and superstitions. Because of that, it is a slow process to disciple the new converts most especially here in Ratanakiri for they lack the Bible background and the tradition of Christianity that we enjoyed back in the Philippines. But in spite of that, we can still see how God moves in the lives of these people in our mission work.

By the way, Bethany Baptist Mission will going to celebrate its 2nd Missions-Church anniversary on the 31st of this May with the theme "Ye Are The Light and The Salth Of This Earth". Our guest speaker was a former Baptist pastor in Hawaii for 12 years and he's currently a missionary here in Ratanakiri with his family for 18 years already. As a missionary, he's a Bible translator translating Bibles and some books in Khmer and tribal language which is "Tampuan" and presently handling a ministry with the "Tampuan" group near the central border of Vietnam. Brethren, please do help us pray for the success of our upcoming 2nd Missions-Church anniversary and the on-going ministry here in Ratanakiri.

Again, thank you so much for your prayers, partnership, encouragement and sacrifice. We know that many of you are praying and sacrificing so that we could continue to be here; it is humbling to be God's ambassadors and your missionaries.

Servants of the Lord,
JAMANDRON'S KIT and JANETH
