Dear Pastor and the Church with A Vision,
“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ” Philippians. 1:6
Greetings from the Tribal groups in Ratanakiri!
God’s way is a perfect or completed way. What He starts He finishes. What He begins, He brings to completion. The same is true in our lives. He will bring to pass all of His promises to their ultimate conclusion.
Before we decided to explore this new challenge in our lives and ministry here in Pom Thmey, Banlung, Ratanakiri, we had to spend a lot of time confirming that this was surely God’s will for us. Trusting God, we have the confidence in the fact that He which has begun a good work in us will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.
Going through this sudden change of our lives and ministry, we gain the energy and encouragement from Galatians 6:9; “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
We are striving together to be used as solid vessels in the day of the harvest. It is not easy for anyone to move on to another stage of life and ministry in another place, especially without knowing what will happen. But the Word of God encourages us to keep running our race without fainting in order to see the fruit of our labor. Indeed, He is the Lord God who knows all things of our life, and He is the One who grants us wisdom and courage to attempt great things for Him. Praise and glorify His Name only!
After two months of making contacts and establishing good relationship with the people in Ratanakiri most especially in Pom Thmey, by God’s grace, we were able to start the ministry. By teaching the children and young people with the Word of God thru English classes using the Book of Mark as our tool in introducing to them the Lord Jesus Christ. We’re very much surprised to know that most of them either from the tribal group which is the “chonchit Krueng” or Khmer don’t really know the Lord Jesus Christ. They don’t know the Bible and they don’t even know the God who created the heaven and earth. So it’s really a great opportunity and a blessing for us to share the Savior and minister to them thru English classes.
Last May 27, God allowed us to start our first service with 19 young people attended and 1 adult. By God’s grace, I was able to preach and impart to them the message of salvation. One of our staff, his name is Cheik which means “banana” was the one who lead and taught them songs. I noticed that all of them were very attentive in listening to the preaching and very eager to learn more Baptist songs. After the preaching, I gave an invitation and 16 of them raise their hands for salvation and one for baptism. Presently, I’m dealing each one of them personally after our English class. It really takes patience, hard work and most of all continues prayers for them to believe on the true God and not the god that they worshipping right now.
Brethren, we count it a privileged and a great responsibility to be your missionaries here in Ratanakiri. We do really appreciate your part in helping to make this possible. We would also like to express our heartfelt thanks for your continues intercession and concerning hearts for God’s work here in Pom Thmey, Banlung, Ratanakiri.
KIT and JANETH
