December Missions Report

Dear PASTORS and Co-Laborers,

“Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord”. Psalms 31:24

A Blessed and Prosperous Happy New Year to all!

I hope this is the year that the Lord Jesus Christ comes back and takes us home to a better place! It’s hard to believe that it’s already the year 2008. It just reminds me that we need to do more for the Lord because the time is short!

It's nice to sit and chat with each of you through our prayer letter twice a month or once a month and sometimes quarterly. Our prayer and desire is that you will sense how our life is here and through that know how to pray for us better. As you have been able to see, we face wonderful times of blessings and challenges just like you do. There is nothing special about us. We are different only in that we live in another place and in another country. It's a blessing to know that your God is our God. He watches, provides for and loves you just as He does us. In less than a week we will have completed our first year here in Ratanakiri. Praise the LORD for that.

Last December, we had so many activities in the church. Our Christmas and New Year service was really a great blessing not only to me and my wife but also to all our members and their families. After the service, we played some indoor games, great time of fellowship and feasting on the physical food. Then, we were able to give shoe boxes as a gift to all our members for their faithfulness and to their loved ones. Each boxes contains personal things for hygiene, toys, school supplies, comb and many more.
They told us that its their first time to received these kind of gifts in their lives. Sopha said, Pastor, “Tsa ran nah”! which means a lot ! I just said to him and to everybody in Khmer; “Okun ng Sosa Pre Ong” which means, Praise and thank the Lord! We were filled with joy and excitement seeing the faces of these young men and women while opening their gifts. Glory to God!

My wife and I and every member of Bethany Baptist Mission would like to thank the Lord for each one of you who gave and sent these gifts for these young people of Ratanakiri to enjoy God’s bountiful blessings this year 2008.

Once again, thank you for each of you who have had this year a part of our ministry here in Ratanakiri, Cambodia. We appreciate all your prayers and look forward to sharing with you what God is doing in the lives of the Ratanakiri people.
