January - March Missions Report

Dear PASTORS and Praying Co-Laborers,

“Bless the LORD, O my soul: and forget not all his benefits:” Psalm 103:2

Greetings from Ratanakiri, Cambodia in the precious Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

We pray this letter finds you all abounding in the work of the Lord this new year 2008. We are excited to see what God has in store for us. It has been an exciting ministry and challenging year for us most especially for the past two months!

January has been a good month. We have gained another supporting church. We have been able to make new contacts in the area. I was able to witness to a man and he listened to what I had to say, I believe more intently because I had shown him concern. I have said this many times to all our members, "people don't care how much you know until they know how much you care." Sometimes we forget that when we tell others of our love for them, that they are merely just words until those words are proven. God said he loved us and he gave us His Son to prove that love. Perhaps we should follow the example of Christ by proving our love for the lost and dying world. Unless your words are just words we must prove our love for them, and show them His love.

February started off with an unexpected trial, an answered prayer and a new ministry.

UNEXPECTED TRIAL
Just a few weeks ago, the nephew of our church landlord went to our house, told us to stop renting and vacate the church place within two days. But I asked him to give us five days to find another place and he agreed. I asked his nephew why his uncle decided to let us stop renting the house and we found out he’s going to sell it to another person. My wife and I did not even thought to worry about this thing because we know that God will not let His work and ministry stop in Pom Thmey. And we believed that the God we are teaching to our people will provide a much better and wider place for worship.

ANSWERED PRAYER
Three days after the old landlord told us to stopped, God provided the house for church and not only that, it is a much wider and better place. This was our specific prayer to God to give us a better and wider place.
It has two rooms for Sunday school for children, a toilet, a kitchen and a big playground for children and young people. One more thing, it is in front of the old house. What we like in this place, it has no second floor like the old house. AMEN and Glory To God!!

NEW MINISTRY
Janeth and one missionary lady go to one village (Pom Moy) twice a week to treat people from their sickness and to teach them basic health education. Janeth is using her profession as an experienced nurse to be a blessing and to reach out these tribal groups for the Lord Jesus Christ. This village (mostly mix tribal groups and Khmer) is 20 minutes away from the provincial capitol which is Banlung. God willing, this year, we could start a mission work with more than 200 families in this village alone.

And we offer thanks to you dear folks who stand in the gap and continually lift us up to the Lord. We can truly say, without the Lord and you, the ministry in Ratanakiri would be in vain.

Partners in His Service,
KIT and JANETH

Kit and Janeth,
Thanks for the newsletter. So good to hear from you. The article and pictures brought back wonderful memories of our recent visit to BanLung and meeting you two.

I already sent a comment, but I don't know if it was accepted, so this is a repeat. More later. Blessings, Bro. John and Shirley
