April - June Missions Report

Dear PASTORS, Friends and Supporters Of The Jamandron’s

Greetings from the North Eastern side of Cambodia.

These past months have gone by quickly. We have seen the mission work start to grow, and pray that it will continue to grow slowly, but steadily.

April has been a good month not only that I was able to finished the series of preaching on the Ten Commandments but the celebration of the Khmer New year. Khmer New Year is a big holiday for Cambodians and usually starts on Sunday. They meet with their families and relatives, share what happened in the past year. The children must show respect to their parents by bringing gifts such as new cloth and money… Then the kids and young people love to play the traditional games and have fun during the Khmer New Year. Most of the people and children throw powder and water in each others face. This means they wish that person strength, good heath and success in business for the coming year. Also, many people went to their own provinces or villages to be with their families and relatives. And because of this celebration, attendance in the church has been somewhat lower for two Sundays, but the faithful still encourage our hearts with their growth in the Lord.

May has been a very exciting month for us. Because we can see how God continue to move upon the hearts of our people both young and adult in spite of the pressures from their own families and traditions here in this province. Also, we celebrated our 1st Missions Anniversary last May 25, 2008. Seventy nine people came to attend with fifteen guest and visitors both young and old, some foreign missionaries and twenty children came that Sunday. Our guest preacher is Pastor Ngouen Sitha gave a challenging and encouraging sermon to all of us especially to all our members. Before the preaching, the members gave a special number by heartily singing “It Is Well With My Soul”

During the invitation, ten people raised their hands for salvation but only two Jarai tribal people came forward and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior. Praise God for these Indigenous people. After the service, the members serve lunch to all who came and we gave out second hand clothes to everyone. Not only they enjoyed spiritual food, physical food as well as material things from the church. Please do pray that more Tribal people and Khmer will be reach out and minister. And that they will come to the saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Thank you all so much for your love, prayers, and support. We are constantly reminded of your faithfulness to us and to the Great Commission. We love you all and thank the Lord for you all. God Bless!

Your Voice in Ratanakiri,
KIT and JANETH
