October - November Missions Report

Dear PASTORS and Ropeholders,

"The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it." Psalms 68:11

In the precious Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, greetings to our lovely prayer and faithful partners.

The months of October and November starts the most extravagant festival in the calendar of Cambodia. They call it “The Water Festival”. Over three days starting with the last full moon day in October or the beginning of November. People from all walks of life from all over the country flock to the banks of Tonle Sap and Mekong Rivers in Phnom Penh to watch hundreds of brightly colored boats with over 50 paddlers battle it out for honors. The boat racing dates back to ancient times marking the strengths of the powerful Khmer marine forces during the Khmer empire. In the evening brightly decorated floats cruise along the river prior to and complimenting the fireworks displays. The festival marks the changing of the flow of the Tonle Sap and is also seen as thanksgiving to the Mekong River for providing the country with fertile land and abundant fish.

But in Banlung, life here continues most especially the work and ministry that God entrusted to us. There’s some ups and downs both in our lives and in the ministry but we still need to hold on and focus on the main thing and that is to “preach the Gospel to the minorities”.

Excitement flows through Bethany Baptist Mission-Church as we have seen many souls got saved and baptized every Sunday and many precious people who have become a part of our lives. The Lord has blessed with not only Khmers but we also have people from different tribes like the Jarai, Katchok, Tampoun, Stiew and even the lady from the Muslim village faithfully attending and serving the Lord. We have seen the church grow bit by bit from only a few to many faithful young people who are getting involved in many areas of the church. The Lord has called some young men to play and teach guitar, lead congregational songs and preach their first sermon during the service.

SPECIAL VISITORS
As your missionaries, its really a blessing and an encouragement in our part to be visited by people or our supporters from the Philippines or other countries here in Ratanakiri. We both knew that this is the farthest place here in Cambodia about 636 kilometers (10-12 hours) from Phnom Penh. Last October 21-23, our Pastor together with some brethren in our church have had the opportunity to visit us and see the work and ministry in this province. They were able to see some famous place in this area like the “Volcano Crater Lake”. We were able also to had a special service (Oct. 22) and about 37 people came. Our Pastor preached that afternoon and encouraged the believers to keep on serving the Lord and focus more on spiritual things rather than the material things of this world.

Again, we love you, and APPRECIATE SO MUCH YOUR PRAYERS, FRIENDSHIP, LOVE, AND SUPPORT THROUGH YEARS PAST, and looking forward to many more victories with you as we continue to serve our Great, Mighty and Coming King!

GOD BLESS YOU

Because He Lives,
JAMANDRON FAMILY
