Dear PASTORS and Ministry Partners,
Romans 13:12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
As another year has closed and another began I cannot help but think of this verse and realize how swiftly time passes for us to make a difference in this world. Indeed, the sense of urgency and the cry for action is greater than ever and our hearts longs to be in Rattanakiri. Praise the Lord, He continually working in the hearts of many churches that share this burden and are helping us to continue the work and ministry here in Rattanakiri.
Exciting times are ahead especially this New Year! Everything is going wonderfully with us. Praise the Lord for His many blessings both materially and spiritually for many years! God has allowed us to see people getting saved, baptized and become chartered members of the church. The first three months of this year have flown by. It reminds us that in comparison to eternity our lives are truly just a vapor. We trust the Lord to do great things through us this year.
Last January, during the invitation in our church service, one precious hand raised for baptism. This lady had been faithfully attending our church for a year already. I was able to witness to her many times and even one of our old member was able to share the plan of salvation to her many times as well. And also, we were able to visit her family once a week in their village. Last December of 2011, she finally accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Lord and personal Savior. Then, two weeks after the New Year, she decided to follow the Lord in the water of baptism. She’s a Muslim lady and we’ve been praying for her since last year and finally by God’s grace, she became a Christian and member of our church. I baptized her together with the tribal Krueng man in one of the lakes. Then, she told us that she wants to study in our Bible School which will opens on the 2nd week of June. Praise the Lord!!
Last February, two more souls were added again unto the church. You can see how the Lord works in the life of these people here in Pom Thmey (New Village). The work keeps getting stronger and stronger! For the past two months, God blessed us tremendously with visitors (young, old and children) every Sunday and the attendance is increasing by God’s grace. Praise the Lord for faithful members consistently inviting friends, loved ones and neighbors. But in spite of these blessings, there are some people not doing what they should suppose to do. For some of them, Christian life was exciting in the beginning. They got saved, baptized and discipled. But now they are finding it hard to make the next step which is service. In order for them to do this there is a lot that they must change. Some are just content to warm a seat in church or shy to share the Gospel of salvation and to some they are not shining their light to others. We do have some workers, but like the Bible says, “…but the labourers are few.” Please pray for more laborers in our place.
Please pray for the future of the work. We see a great potential for future of Bethany Baptist Church.
We want to thank each and every one of you that have personally sacrificed for missions and that has prayed for us. Thank you for your prayers and support.
Bearing the Precious Seed in Rattanakiri,
JAMANDRON’S KIT & JANETH
