Dear Pastor and Church Family,
Wishing You A Very Merry Christ-Filled Christmas & New Year !!
Greetings once again in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! I hope you are enjoying the cold season and seeing the Lord’s blessing in your part of the harvest field. As the Lord’s return nears, may He find us faithful to the work that He has called us to!!
We trust that you had a wonderful Holiday season and are looking forward to a Blessed and Fruitful New Year in the service of our Master and Lord!! December has been a very busy month for both of us and the ministry here. Last December 6, I was able to visit one tribal village (Pom Katchut/Katchut village) about 55 kilometers away from Banlung. The village is on the other side of an island and we need to cross the river using a boat and then ride a motorcycle going uphill. In this village, there’s already an existing church started by another group for 7 years now. It’s a village full of Katchok tribal people and they had their Christmas service during my visit. After their service, I was able to talk to one of the leaders and shared to me that there are still a lot of villages especially Jarai villages with no church or Christians at all. If I go further, the village that I will be reaching is Pom Chong. This is one of the Jarai villages that we need to start reaching for God’s Kingdom. And if I go further, more Jarai villages like Pom Tang, Pom Tenga and Pom Hay which are close to the Vietnam border. In these villages, pressures from the government and some persecutions are very high especially when it comes to religious works. But in spite of these things, I will still be busy visiting these villages and make contacts and build relationship starting January next year. And also please do help us pray that God’s will be done to reach out and minister to the Jarai villages one day at a time. We will update you more on this new work in our report.
GIFT GIVING
Last December 18, we surprised most of our members, visitors and even some of our English students that Sunday was our gift giving. The church gave out sacks of rice (7 kilos for each family), different groceries and second hand clothes to our very faithful members. We also gave out school supplies to our members and visitors presently studying in our English ministry. As they received those gifts, you could see in their faces the joy and happiness in their faces. And they could really feel the Holiday Season and most especially God’s faithfulness and blessings in their lives.
THANKSGIVING SERVICE
Our Bethany BC-Missions celebrated Thanksgiving and Year End service last December 25. This is always a special time, especially, as we look back and see God’s faithfulness, tremendous blessings and the growth of the church and also the new people that have joined us since last year. Also, this is the time that most of the members cooked and brought food for everybody. What a joy to see our members helping each other to make our Thanksgiving and Year End service memorable to them and to all our visitors. We invited a very special guest speaker, our fellow missionaries, friends and co-laborers in the field, Missionary Lomer Hope Dela Cruz and his family to grace the occasion. About more than 95 people came, 5 professions of faith and 1 for baptism. Glory to God!!
BONFIRE
After our Prayer Meeting last December 29, we had our Bonfire which most of the members and their loved ones and even their friends came to join us in this event. We had some film showing, fellowship, food and games both for young and adults. We also had some sharing of testimonies and encouragements and even plans for 2012. We praise the Lord for each member of Bethany BC-Missions for their faithfulness and sacrifice all these years. Praise the Lord!!
In closing, we want to thank you all for your love, prayers, and support. These are very trying times, and we need you more than ever. The Lord is coming, and we must be ready, when He does come. We need to get the Word out and try to win the lost before it is too late. May the Lord help us all to keep on plowing till Jesus comes!
Looking for and waiting for Him,
KIT & JANETH
